Stewardship
Time Talent Treasure

On this page you'll find opportunities for you and your family to get involved at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and in the larger Church and community. Volunteering is a great way to meet people, perform a needed service and have fun at the same time! Sometimes the need is for donations like food or clothing or other things. Check this page frequently, and call the parish office to get involved, 419-893-4848.. From time to time we will add new and different things.

Click here for info on contributing financially to our blessed parish.

Youth Formation Program Seeks Teachers
People, who enjoy sharing their Catholic faith with children, to join St. Joseph’s Religious Education Team. We are currently in need of volunteer teachers and substitutes for grades 1-6. Schedules, training and guidance is available.
Contact Chris Baltes at 419-893-7025. Thank you and God bless.

Taking Holy Communion to those in Need
The Pastoral Care Department at UTMC (formerly MCO) on Arlington is looking for Eucharistic Ministers and volunteers to visit new admissions. If ministering to the sick is of interest to you, please contact Connie Nofziger, the Manager of Pastoral Care at 419-383-3851 or e-mail connie.nofziger@utoledo.edu to set up an interview.

Many parishioners in our parish are homebound, in a nursing home or in the hospital. They would welcome a kindly visitor to share a cup of coffee and a pleasant conversation. Most are also unable to attend Mass and need Holy Communion to be brought to them.

Your presence would mean so much to these parishioners and would let them know their parish community cares deeply for them. If you would like to volunteer for this ministry, please contact the parish office at 419-893-4848.

Funeral Luncheon Program
If you are flexible and willing to give of your time, consider getting involved. This worthwhile ministry lifts a burden off grieving families by providing a luncheon after the funeral of their loved one. All men and women of the parish are invited to consider joining this ministry.

LifeTeen "Chefs"
Do you enjoy baking and cooking? Every week we provide dinner for our teens when they meet after Mass to grow in their faith and understanding. Volunteers are part of teams that share in the preparation by providing some part of the meal once every couple of months. If you would like to be part of this ministry to the youth of our parish, it would be greatly appreciated. Call the Parish Office at 419-893-4848.

Liturgical Ministers Needed
  • Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
  • Lectors. We would like to have two lectors at each Mass.
  • Music ministry
  • For more information, email Jeff Wisniewski  or call 419-893-4848.

AGAPE Outreach

AGAPE is an all-volunteer group committed to helping the homeless and poor by providing meals and basic provisions. Parishioner Pat Dutkiewicz coordinates efforts on behalf of St. Joseph Church. On the third Tuesday of each month, parishioners leave food on the benches in the church doorway for Pat to take to the Salem Lutheran Church which provides a place to fix meals for AGAPE participants. Hundreds of people visit AGAPE for food on a daily basis. Each Tuesday, five St. Joseph women make numerous peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to take downtown to AGAPE. Pat and a group of volunteers have also been collecting tube socks and toilet paper during the months of November and December which will be given to participants to last a year. AGAPE, meaning unconditional love, is also an annual recipient of St. Joseph tithing.
