Commitment to Community
Campus Improvement Campaign

SPIRITUAL. SACRAMENTAL. CHARITABLE. EDUCATIONAL

For nearly 170 years, St. Joseph Catholic Church has served thousands of individuals and families, providing a faith-filled, community-focused parish inspired by the fundamental principles which include spiritual, sacramental, charitable and educational development.

It is our Commitment to Community to be here for another 170 years and beyond! Today we seek to write another chapter of the Maumee St. Joseph Catholic Parish by raising enough funds to transform our campus into an environment that better serves the vast needs of our entire parish, enabling us to continue to be a vibrant Catholic community.

We are embarking on a new endeavor to make significant improvements to preserve structural integrity and meet the ever-growing needs of the parish. In September 2009, numerous neighborhood meetings were held and different plans were presented to the parish. The response was overwhelmingly positive and the call was to move forward to complete all plans.

Parish leadership has blessed a $6.2 million campaign of which $1.7 million has been raised. This project focuses not only on addressing the urgent needs to preserve the campus buildings and stop the decay that has taken place over the years, but to secure $4.5 million to renovate and reconfigure existing space and add much-needed multipurpose rooms and gathering spaces. New construction plans will replace the Plane and Lathe corridor with a two-story building that will contain a first floor gathering space, multi-purpose room (funeral lunchroom), restrooms, and an elevator to second level. The second floor will include additional multi-purpose rooms, restrooms, an entrance to the church balcony and a secured entrance to the school building. The new construction plans also inlcude replacing the old rectory house with a new single-level Adoration Chapel, and adding another parking lot across the street.

By providing this Commitment the Community, we can continue our rich Catholic traditions; extend our services to offer additional ministries; help even more people; and provide a more adequate environment for parishioners to celebrate weddings, funerals and other significant gatherings.

With better facilities, we can educate greater numbers of youth to carry on Catholic beliefs. We can be a stronger, united parish for the greater good of God’s Kingdom. St. Joseph Parish will need the financial support of parishioners, friends, parents, alumni, businesses and other funding sources to move this project forward. We invite you to answer the call and help make a Commitment to Community. Please click below and explore the case statement for more campaign details.

I thank you for being part of such a vital initiative. I ask that you prayerfully and sacrificially consider making a new financial gift. I am grateful for your prayers, your confidence and your commitment to St. Joseph Catholic Parish.

God Bless You!

Fr. Keith Stripe
